after writing up on my Korea trip, it's time to pen down some thoughts about the trip...Overall, i think this is an enjoyable trip...Coco is a great tour guide, telling us about the history of Korea, issues between north and south korea and her life stories...she even told us that her double eyelids were fake...when she told us about international spy bombing the plane in the late 1980s, i was praying hard that history doesn't repeat itself...and she always address us as 'gui bin', makes me feel like i'm really a VIP...haha...

not forgetting the 'xiao di', who is probably the most talked about topic in our trip...even the aunties want to take pictures with him...haha...he earns money by being the photographer...he's also Coco's assistant, serving us food, refilling the food and drinks, loading the luggage onto the coach etc...wonder if his sob story is real, but whatever...i bought all the pics anyway...

korea is quite an interesting country...the citizens are probably all patriots...everyone is using korean products...their cars are either Kia or Hyundai (most of the cars are white), their appliances are produced by Samsung or LG...if Singapore is gonna produce local cars, i wonder how many pple are gonna buy it...and i can't believe they can actually eat the same things for all 3 meals in a day...rice with kimchi, beansprouts, veggies and meat...in my opinion, having rice for breakfast just seem weird...also, there's no differentiation between restaurants, all are serving similar food....this is referred to as 'one-menu' by Coco...

koreans shd brush up on their langauge ability though, most speak korean only...big language barrier...some funny phrases i saw there include 'tour bank' which is a travel agency, 'severance building'
and 'severance hospital' which sound really terrible...

maybe i'll go korea again...in winter though...looking forward to the next trip...

time really flies...it's time to return home again...missed the weather there, so cooling, unlike in singapore...if only i can spend a few more days there...

went to shop at Lotte Duty Free...although we din get to go Lotte World in this itinery, at least we had a glimpse of how it looked like...apparently Bae Yong Jun is the spokesperson for Lotte duty free, he's everywhere in the store...i even took a picture with his cardboard figure...

on board the seagull ship...but the seagulls weren't cooperative that day, din get a chance to feed them...

yeah...it's nami island finally, the filming site of 'winter sonata'....according to the guide, the boat fare used to cost only 700 won, which was about S$1...now it escalated to 5000 won, which was abt $7.50...

the place is very nice, in my opinion...perhaps cos i watched 'winter sonata' before...haha...the group were also given a free 'winter sonata' poster each...yeah...

lots of bae yong jun ard the island...

we went shopping at dongdaemun in the afternoon...it's such a big area that there was simply not enough time to shop...wat a waste...sighz...never mind, there's always another chance...

after which, we went to a park to see this Seoul tower...and i also took a group picture with 'xiao di' here...

this morning we took a cable car ride up Mount Daedun where there's a suspension bridge...but to get to the bridge, u gotta climb many many flights of stairs...being a person who seriously lack exercise, i was extremely exhausted when i reached the bridge...din even have the energy to scale greater heights...even worse than the aunties in the group manz....sighz...

Mt Daedun

at the suspension bridge

next, we visited Sangsoo's Herbland where there's quite a variety of lavender but other than that, there's nothing much...haha...except the souvenir shop where i bought some herb tea and a scented candle...

highlight of the day was to visit Everland...it was my first visit to a theme park and it din disappoint me...this was also the filming location of 'hong dou nu zhi lian'...

at the entrance....

a picture of liger, cross breed of lion and tiger....

during may, it is the rose festival...so of course we gotta take pictures with the roses....

at night, there's a parade and it was quite a sight...

it seemed quite fun working at a theme park...i wanna work at a theme park too...haha...

we stayed at LG resort tonight...this resort was previously open to LG staff only...but due to the high maintenance cost, it became open to the public...the room for v huge, complete with living room and kitchen...and we gotta sleep on the ground...not too bad an experience....

the dragon head rock...

at the mysterious road, water can flow upwards, our coach can move even when the engine was off and it was easier to walk uphill thean downhill...wat an interesting phenomenon, quite a fun experience...

after a domestic flight to jeonju, we headed to Hanok village where we learned how to play the traditional drums and cook korean food 'bibimbap'...we even got to take pictures in korean costumes....

cooking lesson...

off to korea...

first time going abroad without parents...can't help but to worry...i'm worried about falling sick (esp after the clementi incident, i feel that i'm no longer in my top form), worried about losing stuff etc etc...i ought to be filled with excitement when it comes to a trip, but i guess i'm juz a natural born pessimist...dun worry, everything will be fine...u will buy lots of stuff, take lots of pictures and have loads of fun...

yeah...the exam is over....hopefully it will be my last exam...until if i decide to further my studies....looking back at my 17 years of school life, i would say i have been quite a lucky gal...although my results weren't good enough to qualify me as cream of the crop, at least they are ok (good enough to get me into not-so-bad sec sch and jc and also a place in the uni), considering how little effort that i've put in...not as if i think i'm so smart that i dun need to study but i juz dun have any motivation to study anymore...in the uni, no one bothers with ur grades, unlike in pri sch, sec sch and jc where the teachers will come after u...it's true that we are old enough to think for ourselves, but uni tutors really bo chup students...i dun have to elaborate, i'm sure most pple will understand...there are probably only 1 or 2 tutors whom i can regard as dedicated....the only motivation to study in the uni is to get honours....but once i figured out i prob can't get it, i juz can't be bothered with exam anymore, i juz wanna pass...thinking back, passing has always been my goal since sec sch...the thot of aiming for A grades hasn't crossed my mind (except for subjects which i'm not bad at, such as chinese)...dunno wat's wrong with me...haha...

anyway, there's some excitement created in my neighbourhood recently...cos mediacorp is actually filming 'double happiness' at the market...they came down almost everyday for filming...saw xie shaoguang, ivy lee, patricia mok, priscelia chan and rayson tan...ivy and priscelia are so pretty...too bad i'm not thick-skin enough to approach them for a picture or wat...haha...
